The North Carolina brand stretches far and wide, having developed into one of the strongest in all of sports. The interlocking N and C is recognizable, as the first public university receives exposure across the country.

Whether it be on the gridiron or the hardwood, a plethora of recruits grow up hoping to don the Carolina blue and argyle.

For one former rival, that sentiment reigned true.

Former NC State cornerback Jacoby Brissett recently revealed on Smyle Kaufman's "Smylie Show" on SiriusXM Podcasts that he aspired to play basketball at North Carolina.

"I always wanted to go to North Carolina to play basketball," said Brissett. "

The 30-year old signal caller also stated that on his visit to Raleigh when transferring from Florida, the Tar Heels and Wolfpack were squaring off on the hardwood.

NC State would go on to snap a 13-game losing streak against North Carolina and Brissett admitted that he was secretly rooting for the Tar Heels.

Brissett is now teammates with former UNC quarterback Sam Howell in Washington, making for what should be a fun season in the Commanders' quarterback room.

While he is now playing in the NFL, Brissett joins a long line of athletes who wanted to rep North Carolina across their chest and run out of the tunnel in the Dean E. Smith Center.
