The 2023 season is just over a month away, but North Carolina is still continuing their success on the recruiting trail, receiving their 25th commitment in the class of 2024.

On Saturday, four-star wide receiver Alex Taylor committed to the Tar Heels over the likes of Clemson, NC State, Penn State, and Virginia Tech.

Taylor becomes the highest-rated commitment for North Carolina in the cycle and joins three-stars Jordan Shipp and Keenan Jackson as receivers in the class.

In 2022, he tallied a team-high 65 catches for 1,034 yards and 12 touchdowns for Grimsley High School out of Greensboro.

The Tar Heels currently possess the No. 22 ranked recruiting class for 2024 and sit at fourth in the ACC behind Florida State, Clemson, and Miami.

With the addition of Taylor, North Carolina has further strengthened their recruiting efforts in the summer, as they now have secured 13 pledges since the start of May.

In recent years, Tar Heel wideouts such as Dyami Brown, Dazz Newsome, Josh Downs, and Antoine Green have created a pipeline from Chapel Hill to the NFL.

Their success has translated to wide receivers like Taylor heading to North Carolina out of high school or through the transfer portal.

While the Tar Heels may not be done in 2024, they certainly have created a strong foundation for years to come.

Will North Carolina add to their already stacked recruiting class?
