Fireworks lit up the recruiting trail for North Carolina on the Fourth of July, as the Tar Heels earned a commitment from 2024 four-star safety Tyshun White.

White took to social media to announce his decision, committing to the Tar Heels over the likes of Maryland, Florida, Michigan State, and NC State.

The rising senior is rated as the No. 45 safety in the 2024 class and the No. 303 overall recruit.

White, a native of Buford, Georgia, appeared in all 11 games for the Wolves in 2022, guiding them to an 11-1 record.

With the commitment, North Carolina now possesses 21 pledges in the class of 2024. White is currently the second-highest in the group, behind four-star cornerback Zion Ferguson.

He becomes the second safety and third defensive back for the Tar Heels in this cycle.

North Carolina currently hold the No. 21 overall class in the country and has the fourth-best in the ACC.

Will the Tar Heels continue their recruiting dominance in July after an impressive June?
