UNC earns commitment from 2024 offensive lineman
As the 2023 season inches closer, North Carolina has ramped up their recruiting efforts, eyeing the 2024 class.
On Tuesday, the Tar Heels gained the commitment from Aidan Banfield, a three-star offensive lineman in the class of 2024. Banfield took to social media to announce his decision.
The Hoschton, Georgia native recently visited Chapel Hill and selected North Carolina over the likes of Duke, NC State, Virginia, and Wake Forest.
He received an offer from the Tar Heels in January and becomes the eighth commitment for Mack Brown and company in the junior class.
Banfield, a 6-foot-3 guard, attends Mill Creek High School and also serves as the backup center.
With the arrival of new offensive line coach Randy Clements, it appears that the trenches have been a point of focus on the recruiting trail. Banfield is the fourth offensive line commitment for 2024.
North Carolina currently holds the fifth best recruiting class in the Atlantic Coast Conference and the No. 19 ranked class in the country.
