North Carolina already has a top-20 recruiting class for 2024 and the Tar Heels are continuing their efforts on the recruiting trail.

On Tuesday, four-star linebacker James Nesta is set to announce his decision and he has North Carolina in his finalists along with Oklahoma and Miami.

Nesta is the No. 35 linebacker in the class of 2024 and the No. 373 rated recruit overall.

A native of Cornelius, Nesta attends Hough High School, where he recorded 47 tackles as a junior. He led the roster with nine sacks, while adding in a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.

Nesta took an official visit to Chapel Hill last week and capped off his trips with one to Oklahoma this past weekend.

While he is just a two hour drive away from North Carolina, it appears that the Big 12 program is expected to land his services.

He currently has three Crystal Ball predictions, all for the Sooners, including from Steve Wiltfong, 247 Sports' Director of Football Recruiting.

The Tar Heels currently have two linebackers commitments in 2024 class in the form of three-stars Evan Bennett and Crews Law.

According to 247 Sports, Oklahoma does not have a linebacker commit for the rising senior class, giving them a leg up on North Carolina.

Although he is expected to announce his commitment to Oklahoma tomorrow, the Tar Heels would still be in good shape for 2024.

Can Mack Brown and company put on the last minute full-court press and earn the commitment of Nesta?
