Chaminade-Madonna Prep (Fla.) three-star Davion Gause, the only running back among the deep group of UNC football signees, committed to the Tar Heels in March. And he put that pledge in ink earlier this week.

Gause, a bruiser who amassed over 1,000 yards for a 14-0 state championship squad as a senior, ranks No. 500 overall, No. 41 among running backs, and No. 62 in Florida on the 247Sports 2024 Composite.

The Tar Heels' social media revealed his signing via this posted collection of videos, welcoming him to the "Flight Club":

Here's a brief assessment of Gause's powerful frame and game, courtesy of 247Sports' Don Callahan:

"Though his nickname is 'Bullet,' Gause more resembles a bowling ball on the field: the 5-foot-11, 215-pounder is a compactly built, between-the-tackles runner who relies on his vision to weave through the defense.

"Though he lacks home-run speed, his balance and strong running allows him to blow through arm tackles. Against one of the most challenging, national schedules, he averaged 12 yards a carry."

Davion Gause joins 26 others in the 2024 UNC football recruiting class, including six fellow early enrollees. It's tied with Miami for the ACC's largest haul.
