UNC lands commitment from coveted specialist
The kicking game for North Carolina was a major point of concern in the 2023 campaign. Back-to-back losses to NC State and Oregon to end the season were due in part to their kicking struggles.
After earning a commitment from Cincinnati transfer and kicker Ryan Coe in the offseason, it appears the Tar Heels have their eyes set on kicking for the future.
On Saturday, 2024 kicker and Charlottesville native Lucas Osada announced his commitment to North Carolina.
Osada took to social media to announce his decision and future plans.
The future Tar Heel attends Woodberry Forest and according to Inside Carolina was a VISAA All-State selection and named the All Central Virginia football kicker and punter of the year.
Osada had seen his recruitment skyrocket early on this summer, gaining offers from Duke, Wake Forest, and Army.
He becomes the 18th commitment for North Carolina in the 2024 class that currently sits at No. 17 overall and third in the ACC.
The Tar Heels have been on a recruiting tear as of late, receiving five commitments from the high school ranks in the month of June.
Will Mack Brown and the UNC football staff continue their impressive performance on the recruiting trail?
