The veteran defensive tackle believes youngsters can contribute

Last season when Aaron Crawford was battling injury, he spent time working with the scout-team defense as he tried to get up to speed on his run fits.

Through that process, he got familiar with Ed Montilus, who has emerged as a possible breakout player on the Carolina offensive line this season. Of course, being the older, more experienced player, he wondered why the then-freshman was able to keep up.

"That was making me question if I was really ready to come back, and now, I continue to see how he develops and how he works in the offseason and it wasn’t a mistake," Crawford said. "He’s one of those guys where he's going to continue to work and continue to grind, so I expect a real high ceiling for Ed."
