The redshirt freshman has a pretty good reason for the facial hair

"It's electric," Ruder said when asked about his new horseshoe mustache.

Joking aside, he said the mustache was just something to help lift spirits and have a little fun during those long training camp days.

A dual-threat, Ruder thinks he brings plenty to the table in Carolina's quarterback battle and has enjoyed competing with a couple of guys he calls friends.
