USC Women's Basketball: How JuJu Watkins Hopes To Grow From Huskies Loss
The USC Trojans women's basketball team had one of its most successful seasons in a long time, reaching the Elite Eight. They unfortunately fell short of their goal, dropping the contest to the UConn Huskies.
Despite this, the Trojans are looking forward to growing from this experience. They were a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and came very close to reaching the Final Four. Star guard JuJu Watkins said that she hopes to grow from the experience of losing to UConn to make sure it doesn't happen again.
"I think just coming up short, that adds a lot of fuel to the fire for the next couple years," Watkins said. "I'm just excited to go back home and get in the gym now. I'm really focused on learning from this season as a whole, things I can improve on. Definitely my efficiency and stuff like that."
Watkins took college basketball by storm this season, breaking out in all sorts of ways. Even as a freshman, she did things that many couldn't even dream of and became a star in her own right.
With Watkins on the team next season, the sky is the limit for USC. They can take this year's growth to learn from and use it to propel them even further next season. The Trojans' program is very bright and they should be extremely competitive once again.
