Anytime former Trojan players have success at the next level, the USC faithful rallies around them. It could be the smallest of accomplishments, but the Trojan fans have their backs.

Once a Trojan, always a Trojan seems to be the motto here.

Recently, former USC guard Isaiah Mobley helped lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA Summer League championship. He was spectacular during the entire summer run of games, but when it mattered most, he stepped up immensely.

In the title game, he scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. It was a great showing for the young player, and many people believe that he could be in line to crack the Cleveland rotation next season. He was named the MVP of the championship game as well.

He showed how explosive he could be when given the time to play, and fans were loving it.

With this performance, albeit in the summer league, he put himself on the map and now will look to continue to develop before training camp. The former Trojan spent most of his first season in the NBA in the G-League, but his emergence has possibly granted him a chance.

The former second-round draft pick of Cleveland looked incredibly confident in his game and it was nice to see. It’ll be interesting to see if he can continue to grow his game and if he can land a spot in the rotation. If he does, both he and his brother Evan Mobley will lead the charge as former USC players in the NBA.
