USC Men's Basketball Team Gets Into School Spirit During Football Game
On Saturday, August 26th, your USC Trojans football team submitted its first blowout victory of the season, a 56-28 masterpiece against the San José State Spartans.
During the win, Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams enjoyed a strong first game, throwing for 18-of-25 completions, 278 passing yards and four touchdowns.
The football club may have been looking dominant on the field, but it wasn't the only big-time athletic program present in the adventure. The men's basketball team, led by its expected starting backcourt, was getting in on the fun, too.
Incoming rookie (and anticipated top-10 lottery pick) guard Isaiah Collier and returning guard Boogie Ellis (expected to possibly be chosen as early as the end of the first round or top of the second in the 2024 draft) showed off some major school spirit in helping use the club's T-shirt cannon to toss out free swag to expectant fans. They got quite into it:
It's always nice to see players supporting other athletes in different sports, speaking broadly, but of course this intermingling with fellow USC classmates seems like an excellent way for the Trojans guards to foster a cooperative relationship with the football program. USC at its core was designed to inspire and mold young minds, and for students and younger fans, this big show of support should have a galvanizing effect when the basketball team gets started this summer.
