USC Basketball: Top 3 2024 Center Prospect Decommits From SEC Powerhouse
High school center John Bol, a four-star rising senior at Wichita (Kansas) Sunrise Christian High School, is now a college free agent, per David Rosenberg of Gators Wire (USA Today).
The 7'2" big man has decommitted from the University of Florida, meaning he'll have a new destination in the fall of 2024. And yes, that means USC is back in the mix.
Bol's rep, Chris Wash of Level 13 Sports Market and Management, broke the news on his Twitter account:
“My client 2024 John Bol (@JohnBol_7) 7’2 C Ranked #23 in the country has decommitted from Florida and will re-open his recruitment,” Wash writes.
As Donovan James of Trojans Wire (USA Today) writes, not only is the 7'2" center the No. 23-ranked prospect among his class, he's also ranked third at his position within that class, at least according to 247Sports' rankings.
Per James, the Trojans numbered among seven finalists for Bol's services along with the Gators. The other programs, all of whom will presumably once again be vying for the big man's services, include the University of Connecticut, Michigan University, the University of Missouri, the University of Texas at Austin, and Wake Forest University.
Pro league the Overtime Elite had also been considered by Bol, and one wonders if they may emerge as the favorite now.
