USC Basketball: Fans Debate Trojans Backcourt Compared To Big Ten Powerhouse
Trojans fans got an exciting first look at their men's basketball team recently as they embarked on a trip to Greece where they played some exhibition matches against international teams and started to build chemistry with one another. The entire community is ready to see how this new group fares once they start official games but just by taking a look at their highlights from their three games overseas, it's easy to see why this was one of USC's most successful recruiting periods.
Even though Bronny James and Vince Iwuchuku were not able to join the rest of their teammates for these games, they still took care of business in Greece and Croatia by going 3-0 and getting a feel for their new system on both ends of the floor. Immediately, fans recognized how comfortable Isaiah Collier was running the offense and how returning senior Boogie Ellis was stepping into more of an off-ball role.
Collier's arrival changes USC's whole dynamic and playbook and he was able to get into the paint with ease and either score of find open teammates. Ellis picked up right where he left off last year and showcased his elite stroke from behind the arc. We continue to hope for nothing but the best when it comes to Bronny James' basketball career and should he re-join the Trojans this season, this squad will be able to integrate him quickly.
Therefore, College Basketball Report took to Twitter to pose a key question to fans: How does USC's backcourt match up to that of Michigan State University?
MSU boasts the likes of Tyson Walker, AJ Hoggard and Jaden Akins and have a lot to look forward to this coming season. They usually do land and are able to develop some of the best guards in the country and help them reach the next level.
