USC Basketball: Isaiah Collier Makes Decision On 2024 NBA Draft, NCAA Eligibility
USC Trojans point guard Isaiah Collier, the team's highest-upside player (its best is probably fifth-year guard Boogie Ellis), is ditching the club to explore life at the pro level.
Collier informed ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski of his decision on Wednesday. Woj reports that agent B.J. Armstrong of Wasserman (formerly a three-time NBA champion and an All-Star point guard in his own rights with the Chicago Bulls) will represent the 6'5" guard out of Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia in the draft. By hiring an agent, Collier will forgo his NCAA eligibility.
As Woj notes, the Pac-12 All-Freshman is regarded as the 10th best player in this year's draft class, meaning he'll most likely be a late lottery selection. He was seen as the top recruit from among his high school class in 2023, but the team's 15-18 finish and his jump shooting issues cooled the market on him a bit.
During his 27 contests with the club, Collier averaged 16.3 points on .490/.338/.673 shooting splits, 4.3 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per bout.
Jonathan Givony of Draft Express/ESPN views Collier as a great rim-rolling playmaker, who should be able to get to the line at will and has an ability to perform adeptly at multiple speeds.
