USC Basketball: Prep Prospect Hints At Potential Trojans Visit
6'3" point guard Jerry Easter II, On3's 25th-ranked player in the high school class of 2025, may be eyeing a college future with your USC Trojans, he informs Jamie Shaw of On3.
Easter, a four-star prospect at La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana, spoke about the attributes he can bring teams at the next level.
“I’m a fast-paced guard who looks to get everyone going,” Easter told Shaw. “I’ve been working hard on my body and conditioning a lot, and I’m seeing the benefits here. I watch a lot of Kyrie Irving, he’s my favorite player. He gets his team involved and controls the game. No one speeds him up, and he has a full offensive game. He can finish at the rim, he’s got great handles, and he has a good jump shot.”
“I don’t have any official visits set up yet,” Easter said. “I’m probably going to start off taking officials to the closer schools. I want to take as many as I can before the high school season starts. So I might start off with like Ohio State, Michigan State, and Cincinnati, the schools closest to Ohio.”
Easter original hails from Toledo, Ohio, which could explain his interest in sticking around there rather than finding an Indiana-based school.
“I’ve been talking with UCLA and USC about official visits, too,” Easter said. “My dad has a relationship with Coach (Eric) Mobley; he’s known him from before. That’s a really nice school, and it is great weather out there. Also, a scholarship to go there is worth like half-a-million dollars. The academics are interesting out there. I do want to go somewhere I can get a good degree, for after basketball.”
