USC Basketball: Trojan Moves Into Top 3 Of Latest NBA Pre-Draft Rankings

The league is on notice!
In this story:

Freshman USC Trojans point guard Isaiah Collier hasn't played a single non-exhibition game for the program just yet, but that doesn't mean NBA draftniks aren't already salivating about the Sierra Canyon School prospect ahead of the 2024 draft.

The 6'5" prospect has ascended into consideration for the top three selections in the latest NBA draft board cooked up by Jonathan Givony of ESPN, in second place behind just G League Ignite small forward Ron Holland.

Collier, 18, is headlining a starry recruiting class for Andy Enfield, which also includes ailing guard Bronny James, four-star center Arrinten Page (out of Collier high school, Wheeler, in Murrieta, Goergia), and power forward Brandon Garnder, along with transfer forward DJ Rodman.

That group will joining fifth-year guard Boogie Ellis, Pac-12 All-Defense Team small forward Kobe Johnson, redshirt senior power forward Joshua Morgan, and sophomore center Vince Iwuchukwu.

So why does Holland get the head nod from Givony over Collier?

"Holland is the early favorite for the No. 1 pick with a very high floor as a prospect because his relentlessness pushing in transition, crashing the glass, getting over screens, sliding his feet one-on-one and ability to generate turnovers," Givony writes. "To maintain that status, he'll need to continue to show growth with his half-court shot-creation ability, decision making and shooting consistency."
