USC Basketball: 2 Recent Alums-Turned-NBA Big Men Join Team For Exhibition Tour
With the Trojans currently on a European exhibition tour, it can be a challenge for some of these young men to play so far away from the comforts of home.
Some of USC's own came along for the Greek trip to surely grant some wisdom on the current Trojan squad ahead of their upcoming season.
Both of the Mobley brothers made names for themselves to begin their basketball careers in Temecula for their high school years.
USC took on both brothers and the pair shined in their seasons with the team.
The younger of the pair, Evan, only spent one season in the maroon and gold and dominated the awards list in his freshman year.
Evan was named to numerous all-conference teams in the Pac-12 for his defensive skills and overall game that eventually lobbied him into a top-3 pick to the Cleveland Cavs in 2021.
Since being in the league, Mobley has only grown a bigger name for himself, being named to the All-Rookie team in his first year in 2022 and being a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year in his second year of 2023.
His older brother Isaiah played one more season for the Trojans in 2022 where he earned first team all conference honors before he too was drafted by the Cleveland Cavs in the second round of the 2022 draft.
After an impressive G-League season, Mobley signed a two-way deal for the Cavs to return to the Cavs after previously signing the same deal in 2022.
Named as a third team All-G-League selection, the elder Mobley's potential is clearly there just like his brother's.
In the meantime, both brothers have joined the current Trojans on their European tour in a show of moral support.
With some homegrown talent supporting them, we can only hope USC shows out on the international stage.
