USC Basketball: 3 Transfers That Can Replace Bronny James, Boogie Ellis, and Kobe Johnson

The Trojans have a lot of spots to fill.

The USC Trojans' coaching swap has left new head coach Eric Musselman with next to nothing to work with, as the presumed draft declaration of Isaiah Collier, transfer portal/draft decision of Bronny James, and de-commitments of Trent Perry, Brody Kozlowski, and more, have left USC with just a couple of players on the roster.

To add onto that, prior to Musselman's hire, wing Kobe Johnson entered the portal and transferred to rival UCLA, which was a significant blow to a program that needed his defense and experience badly.

This leaves the ex-Razorbacks head coach with a number of holes to fill, with the transfer portal being his best bet to find elite talent. Here are a few names to keep an eye out for:

Tramon Mark: Mark is a 6'6" wing who averaged 16.2 points per game under Musselman last year with the Arkansas Razorbacks. He entered the transfer portal last night in response to Musselman's departure. Mark spent three years with the Houston Cougars prior to transferring to Arkansas, where he was an integral two-way piece on a Houston team that made a Final Four, Elite Eight, and Sweet Sixteen in his time there. Mark is significantly better than Johnson and James, and with him lacking ties to other programs, USC should be on his shortlist of programs.

Oumar Ballo: Ballo is a seven-foot behemoth who spent the past couple of years at Gonzaga and Arizona, racking up accolades. A two-time All-Pac-12 First-Team selection, he's a two-way force that can be a focal point on a top-tier team, proven by his time at Arizona. His decision to transfer from Arizona is quite surprising, leaving a lot on the table as the program has been quite good over the past few seasons. Expect Musselman to make a push for him given the geographical proximity as well as the win-now potential Ballo brings to the table.

Kannan Carlyle: Former Stanford guard Kannan Carlyle would be a high-end get in the portal. At 6-foot-3, he's a fluid scorer that averaged 11.5 points per game in an inconsistent role for the Cardinal. After the dismissal of Stanford coach Jerod Haase, Carlyle hopped into the portal, but given Haase's low odds of getting another head coaching gig at a Power-5 program, he becomes a candidate to transfer anywhere. Coming from Stanford, an offer he took over schools like Baylor, Auburn, Florida, and Kansas, education could be a key factor for him, putting USC on a shortlist of schools.
