USC Basketball: Andy Enfield Calmly Blunt About Trojans' Horrific Slide
The USC Trojans men's basketball team is reeling right now. They've lost seven of their last eight games and are in a freefall. It hasn't been easy to watch, and the team has been dominated by their Pac-12 Conference competition.
This team entered this season with something to prove and a lot of hype. But something has gone completely wrong along the way.
The team lost their most recent game by a score of 83-77 in overtime to the Cal Golden Bears. The Trojans rallied from a large halftime deficit, showing some fight, but it wasn't enough to get the win.
Despite all the losses, head coach Andy Enfield remained surprisingly calm after the game. He tried to look on the bright side of what has been a tough season for his team.
“This is college sports,” Enfield, the USC coach, said postgame. “You don’t win every game. You gotta fight through the adversity. A lot of teams go through this, a lot of players, coaches … no one feels sorry for us, so we don’t expect it.”

Guard Isaiah Collier returned in this game, providing a much-needed spark for the Trojans. He scored 20 points in 27 minutes, but even his greatness couldn't overcome the USC issues.
“You saw his competitive spirit … no one’s perfect, but he sure tried as hard as he could to help us win,” Enfield said.

The Trojans will need to find a way to turn this year around if they want any chance to make the NCAA Tournament. But it needs to start now, otherwise, they run the risk of putting together a lost season.
