The Trojans sustained a brutal loss on Saturday night as they fell to the Colorado Buffaloes 92-89 in double overtime.

For a team that has struggled to pull out wins and was recently on a six-game losing streak, this loss was extra devastating as the Trojans were so close to getting what feels like a rare win these days.

USC head coach Andy Enfield reflected on what went wrong for the Trojans after the game.

"Tough loss for our team, guys played hard, just couldn't get enough defensive stops or rebound the ball in the last 10 minutes of the game," Enfield said. "So disappointing guys play very hard. Just one possession here and there was the difference.”

Rebounds were definitely one area of the game that the Trojans were outmatched. The Buffaloes notched over double the amount of rebounds that USC did, with 47 compared to USC's 22.

This especially proved crucial for Colorado to get the win toward the end of the game, giving them more opportunities to score.

“Defensive stops, you have got to defend and rebound, and we give it too many second second shots," Enfield said. "It's the second chance points when they made a run, and then we missed a few layups. When the other team goes on a run, you got to score the ball at some point. It wasn't like our guys were taking terrible shots, they just weren't making them.”

Though USC had a solid day shooting — making 46.6% from the field and 42.9% from beyond the three-point line — they missed several shots toward the end of the game that could have sealed the win.

Even with Boogie Ellis and Isaiah Collier combining for 55 points, those few key misses are enough to cost the Trojans a win against a strong team like Colorado. It's frustrating, but the reality for USC and the way their season has gone.
