USC Basketball: Andy Enfield Nears Trojans Coaching History Books
11th-year USC Trojans men's basketball head coach Andy Enfield is rapidly approaching the upper tier of all leaders in the team's history.
Per USC Athletics, Enfield's 210 victories compiled during his tenure with the program (he sports a 210-132 overall win-loss record) is currently fourth on the all-time rankings of winningest USC men's basketball coaches.
Bob Boyd's 216 wins currently ranks third historically, behind 260-win Sam Barry and 251-win Forrest Twogood. Given the Trojans' pedigree and current trajectory, pretty much only a midseason firing would prevent Enfield from reaching the top three this season.
Prior to his stint at the Galen Center, Enfield was the head man at Florida Gulf Coast University from 2011-13, where he posted a 41-28 record during his two years with that program. The furthest Enfield has ever gotten in the Big Dance is to the Elite Eight, via his 25-8 2020-21 Trojans, led by 6'9" one-and-done freshman power forward Onyeka Okongwu. After an All-Pac-12 First Team season with the Trojans, the Chino Hills native was selected with the sixth overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2021 NBA draft.
Enfield's next opportunity to pad his total tally of wins comes against the Long Beach State University Dirtbags (I swear that's their real team name, stop asking me) at home on Sunday, against whom USC is heavily favored.
