USC Trojans freshman Isaiah Collier has made his first few collegiate games look easy. Collier is averaging 21 points, three rebounds and 3.8 assists a game through the first few games of the season and he has looked comfortable doing so.

USC guard Boogie Ellis spoke about how Collier impacts the game and what has impressed him so far from the freshman.

“He gets downhill fast … just knowing that, using my ability to shoot, guys gon’ run me off the line,” Ellis said, translating Collier’s impact to his game. “So just being able to get downhill first and finish first and then work my way out — I feel like that’s gonna be what I’m gonna do this year, work on my finishing, work my way out.”

Collier and Ellis give the Trojans a lethal scoring duo that forces opponents to figure out which to double-team. It’s a pick-your-poison type of situation for them and it gives USC a strong chance every game.

Both players are counted on heavily each night, but Collier is showing exactly why he was such a high prospect for this team. He has emerged rather quickly for the Trojans, and they are thankful he is on their roster.

If he can keep this up, the Trojans could really make some noise in both the pac-12 and nationally.

The game comes seems simple to him and it has been fun to watch him play. He should only continue to get better as he gets more comfortable, and that is a scary thought for the rest of the nation.
