USC Basketball: Bronny James Goes Viral After Embarrassing ASU Pregame Moment

He had a good game though!

USC Trojans men's basketball freshman combo guard Bronny James has gotten the starting nod for the club over the last several games, and upon closer examination it's become apparent that he still has a lot of room left to grow as a scorer and passer.

Today, against the Arizona State Sun Devils, Bronny quickly started trending on social media... but not for any of the highlight reel-worthy stuff he did on the court, albeit in an 82-67 loss, USC's fourth in a row, which dropped the team to a miserable 8-11 record.

Instead, it was for this pregame moment when, amid a flurry of boos from a hostile ASU crowd, he leapt up to hit the Sun Devils sign above the entrance to the visitors' locker room -- and hit his head on the sign.

When the game proper kicked off, James scored seven points on 3-of-6 shooting from the floor (1-of-2 from deep), dishing out five dimes (against three turnovers), and grabbing four rebounds. He remains pretty raw as a scorer, but the 6'4" Sierra Canyon School product is already a very solid point-of-attack defender.

James has been starting in the stead of ailing fifth-year guard Boogie Ellis, who missed his third consecutive bout with a hamstring injury. James is averaging a modest six points, four assists, and 3.7 rebounds across these starts.
