USC Basketball: Buffaloes Star Unpacks Second-Half Rally Vs Injured Trojans
After your USC Trojans lost a 68-58 contest against the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday, Colorado senior forward Tristan da Silva indicated postgame that the club had been sure to take the team seriously, despite it missing three starters, writes Pat Rooney of BuffZone.
The Trojans were without their starting backcourt of fifth-year senior Boogie Ellis and freshman Isaiah Collier, and were also missing forward Joshua Morgan.
“I feel like we were trying not to (look past USC) because we were on the flip side of it,” da Silva said. “We had me and Cody [Williams] out, and we went 2-0 in the first two games of conference play. That can’t really be our mindset coming into games, that their main guys are out and that they’re just going to give up and give us a W. They played well in the first half [outscoring the Buffaloes 37-24], but we turned it around in the second half [outscoring USC 44-21].”
For his part, da Silva chipped in 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field (2-of-6 from long range), four rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block.
Colorado headed into the game on a three-game losing streak, and left while kicking off an official two-game losing streak for USC.
