It's very clear that whichever NBA team opts to take a chance on the upcoming USC Trojans guard Isaiah Collier, they'll want the ball in his hands as much as possible. He does thrive off ball as well as he has developed a nice catch-and-shoot game and possesses the ability to cut nicely but he's a point guard at the end of the day.

Therefore, the main focus for Collier right now is getting acquainted to the Trojans' system and preparing for a big season but early 2024 mock drafts are already rolling out and surprise surprise, he is being poised as a lottery pick.

CBS Sports experts currently have the Orlando Magic selecting him with the third overall pick and had this to say about Collier and his potential fit.

"With Orlando's frontcourt all but solidified, it looks to pair top-10 guard pick Anthony Black next to another facilitator here with Collier. Collier was briefly the No. 1 player in the 2023 class before finishing at No. 2. He's set to be the star attraction for a talent-laden Trojans team in 2023."

I do find this prediction pretty interesting because the Magic already have a number of young guards on their squad in Markelle Fultz, Cole Anthony, Jalen Suggs and just selected Anthony Black.

Collier will obviously have to share ball-handling duties this season at USC with Bronny James and Boogie Ellis but the NBA is a whole different level. If this prediction were to come true, maybe the Magic will make some roster changes by then and have a bigger role for the floor general.

But as I said, the focus is on the months ahead and we'll be seeing Collier play official games in red and gold very soon!
