Could star USC Trojans freshman point guard Isaiah Collier make an encore appearance for the Cardinal and Gold in 2024-25?

Heading into this season, the former five-star high school recruit out of Wheeler High School in Murrieta, Georgia was widely expected to opt for the 2024 NBA draft. The 6'5" freshman guard is projected as a mid-to-late lottery pick in most national mock drafts.

Collier was shelved for six games while recuperating from a minor hand surgery. He finally returned on Wednesday night for the first time in a month, and his 20 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the floor and 12-of-16 shooting from the foul line made him the slumping Trojans' leading scorer in a valiant-but-futile 83-77 overtime defeat against the California Golden Bears.

Per Luca Evans of The Orange County Register, Collier hinted after the loss that he's not necessarily committed to that one-and-done life.

"I mean, I haven't made my mind up to enter the draft," Collier revealed.

As the 9-14 Trojans continue to compile losses (they've gone 1-7 across their last eight contests), their chances at a return to the postseason continue to slip away. Perhaps Collier would like some March Madness action before he makes the pro leap. Given that he's still earning decent coin thanks to his NIL portfolio (its annual value is projected at $588,000, per On3), and missed so much time, it makes sense that he'd like a bit more seasoning in the NCAA.
