USC Basketball: LBSU Players Savored Win Over Trojans With LeBron James Present
Over the weekend, the USC Trojans basketball team dropped its game against Long Beach State in disappointing fashion. The Trojans blew a massive lead and ultimately fell in overtime.
It wasn't a normal game for the team, as freshman guard Bronny James was making his collegiate debut. After unfortunately suffering a cardiac arrest attack earlier in the summer, James's basketball future was in question.
But thankfully, he was cleared to play again and made finally made his debut for the Trojans. With him playing, it meant that the stars would be out at the Galen Center. This included his father, NBA legend LeBron James.
But Long Beach State wasn't afraid of the Trojans and even was motivated to take USC down. And to do it in front of the NBA superstar, meant everything to them.
"To Long Beach State, the high-profile matchup with the Trojans was about more than Bronny’s return to basketball. The 49ers arrived hungry to spoil USC’s party, to topple a preseason Top 25 team and to make a name for themselves playing in front of a basketball icon that many of them grew up idolizing."
Per Jeff Eisenberg of Yahoo Sports
It was a tough game overall for the Trojans, but they'll take the lessons from the game moving forward. All they can do is look forward and make sure that they don't let an opportunity like this slip away again.
