USC Basketball: LeBron James Travels For Bronny, Trojans' OT Road Loss Vs Cal
LeBron James just can't get enough of basketball. Stars -- they're just like us!
On an off day for his Los Angeles Lakers, the 20-time NBA All-Star forward decided to skip the ice baths and hyperbaric chambers (well, who knows actually, it's a short plane ride) and jetted up north to check out his son Bronny's team, your USC Trojans, as they looked to return to the winners' circle against the California Golden Bears.
Unfortunately, despite a spirited double-digit second-half comeback that helped push the bout to an overtime period, USC's offensive miscues ultimately doomed the team in the bonus frame.
The Trojans fell, 83-77, which dropped their overall season record to a miserable 9-14 (3-9 in the Pac-12). As Andy Enfield continues to tinker with his starting lineups, it appears he may have overthought things in playing his only two double-digit scorers, redshirt senior forward DJ Rodman and freshman guard Isaiah Collier (the latter of whom was returning from injury, and presumably will start again soon), came off the bench.
In 28 minutes as a starter, Bronny finished with five points on 1-of-5 shooting from deep (he didn't even attempt a field goal within the three-point arc) and 2-of-4 shooting from the charity stripe, a team-high five rebounds, and one assist.
