USC Basketball: Hall Of Famers Debate Winner Of A LeBron-Bronny James Matchup

We'd pay good money for this.

USC Trojans freshman combo guard Bronny James, son of Los Angeles Lakers All-NBA point forward LeBron James, has had a rough start to his college tenure.

The 6'4" 19-year-old out of Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth suffered a cardiac arrest during a morning workout at the Galen Center in July, which delayed his college debut for eight games.

Across his three healthy contests off the bench, he's mostly been a defensive specialist for the 6-5 Trojans, averaging five points on .333/.300/.667 shooting splits, 2.7 rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Two longtime Hall of Fame on-court rivals to Bronny's father, former Boston Celtics superstar forwards Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, recently took to their Showtime series "Ticket & The Truth" (titled after their respective nicknames) to debate whether Bronny would be able to defeat his dad in a one-on-one matchup.

"Bronny don't want no smoke with Big Bron right now." Pierce opined.

"Bronny winning the game bro." Garnett rebuffed.

"No he not right now," Pierce said. "Versus Big Bron? 5 and O come on dawg what you talking about? Man Bron is not giving him that... He don't have to go full steam right now... Bronny only 6'2", LeBron is 6'9" dawg! Bronny ain't got his grown man strength yet,"

Through 28 contests with the Lakers, the elder James is averaging 25.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists a night. Bronny isn't starting on his own college team yet. He still projects as being a legitimate NBA pro, but he remains a major work-in-project. Bronny continues to need time for development at the college level before he can hang with one of the best in the game.
