USC Basketball: One NBA Executive Believes Bronny James Should Stay With Trojans Next Season
USC Trojans guard Bronny James is arguably the most talked about freshman in college basketball and the majority of it isn't about his skill set on the court. Being the son of an NBA legend, James has received all sorts of media attention.
Most of the talk recently has been about whether or not he will enter the NBA Draft. Despite a poor season from first James at USC, there is thought that he still may enter the NBA.
One NBA executive doesn't believe that he should enter the NBA this season and instead, stay with the Trojans for another year.
“We would recommend Bronny go back to college,” an NBA team executive told Jeremy Woo of ESPN. “I’ll be honest, we didn’t have huge expectations for [Bronny] heading into the season. I know some mocks had him as a top-20 pick, but our group didn’t view him as a player of that caliber.”
Per ESPN
He unfortunately suffered a cardiac arrest attack last summer, which contributed to his struggles this season. Thankfully, the doctors cleared him to return to game action, but he didn't live up to the type that originally surrounded him.
Having a normal offseason could be just what James needs, but he does have a tough choice to make. The decision to go pro isn't one that he will take lightly, but it does need to be his choice. Only James knows if he is ready for the league, so it'll be interesting to see how this all plays out.
