USC Basketball: Star Ex-Trojans Center Playing For Home Country In FIBA World Cup
Basketball fans have not been able to digest a ton of official games as of late due to both college and the NBA being in their offseason right now and the summer league already over. Pro-AM games are still happening all around the country but after the Chet Holmgren injury last year, it feels like less stars are participating in them this time around.
But there is a light at the end of the tunnel folks. The FIBA 2023 World Cup is set to take place next month and we will see many stars represent their home countries in an epic, international battle. This is usually a time where we see players take on different roles than they do with their main teams and due to international ball being a whole different style, there are always surprises.
And USC fans... get ready to watch a former do-it-all big man Nikola Vucevic suit up for the country of Montenegro for the first time since 2019. Vucevic first broke onto the national scene during three successful seasons with the Trojans and he is now the starting center for the Chicago Bulls.
Montenegro's head coach Bosko Radovic broke down how he was able to get Vucevic to buy in.
"I had a very positive conversation with Nikola. He will be available this summer, he will be preparing and he will play in the World Cup. There is a possibility that he will be with us from the beginning of the preparation," Radovic said about the two-time All-Star (2019, 2021).

The FIBA World Cup will be a super entertaining time period just before the NBA season and NCAA season kick off so make sure to tune in. Vucevic will look to help his squad win as many games as possible and will always have support from USC fans.
