Young guard Bronny James finally made his long-awaited college basketball debut over the weekend for the USC Trojans. James unfortunately suffered a cardiac arrest attack earlier in the summer, and nobody knew if he'd ever play basketball again.

But he was thankfully cleared to return to game action and made the most of his time. He was limited in his first game, but his minutes should only increase as time goes on.

Bronny made some impact plays just minutes into his debut, including an insane block. It seems that after all the years of watching his dad, LeBron James, Bronny learned a thing or two.

“We recruited Bronny James because he’s a very good basketball player,” USC coach Andy Enfield said. “He went through a very unfortunate situation. He’s done an incredible job with that."

But the return to the court wasn't easy for Bronny. However, he does have a teammate who, unfortunately, knows about the struggle to deal with his issues.

Trojans forward/center Vince Iwuchukwu also suffered a cardiac arrest attack during workouts a year prior. He knows what Bronny has been dealing with, so he has been a sympathetic ear for his teammate.

“Unfortunate that we both had to go through similar circumstances,” Vincent Iwuchukwu said, “but I know it’s made him stronger.”

It's a connection that neither player ever wanted to deal with, but it's the reality of their situations. Thankfully both players have been alright and can continue their careers in college basketball.
