USC Basketball: Trojans Blow Out Oregon State Behind DJ Rodman Double-Double
Your USC Trojans men's basketball team can finally put its six-game losing streak in the rear view.
On Saturday, at home, the Cardinal and Gold returned to the winners' circle with an 82-54 victory over the visiting Oregon State University Beavers, galvanized by redshirt senior transfer forward DJ Rodman's 12-point, 14-rebound double-double.
With the win, the Trojans have improved to a still-bad 9-13 overall record and a 2-8 Pac-12 conference record (yes, they had won just a single Pac-12 game). USC is astoundingly a scant 4.5 games behind the Arizona Wildcats, who at 7-3 boast the No. 1 record in the conference. The Trojans have eight Pac-12 contests remaining on their slate.
This slick Arrinten Page slam, courtesy of a Bronny James dish, kicked off an 18-8 USC start, and the Trojans were off and running from there.
James finished with nine points on 3-of-7 shooting from the floor and six dimes, the top assist tally in the contest.
6'10" junior USC forward Harrison Hornery scored 14 points on 5-of-7 field goal shooting, and Trojans sophomores Oziyah Sellers and Kijani Wright each notched 12 points apiece.
USC next heads upstate, for matchups against the similarly struggling 9-13 California Golden Bears this coming Wednesday and the 11-9 Stanford Cardinal on Saturday.
