USC basketball suffered perhaps their most heartbreaking loss of the season, falling 92-89 to Colorado in double-overtime.

The Trojans outscored the Buffaloes 39-33 in the first half and took a 16-point lead in the second half, but the Buffaloes came back and tied the game by the end of the half, sending the contest into overtime.

After both teams scored 10 points in the first period of overtime, Colorado outscored USC 9-6 in the second overtime period, coming away with a three-point win.

The Trojans had a shot at getting consecutive wins for the first time since early January, but instead fell short. USC has now lost nine of their last eleven games, even as they've gotten much closer to securing some more victories.

Once again, USC proved unable to close out a game this season. Though the Trojans managed to win a tight 68-64 contest over Utah on Thursday, they've lost several other close games or contests where they had the lead.

Besides how close this game was, this loss was also disappointing because it blew the tremendous games of Boogie Ellis and Isaiah Collier. Ellis put up a whopping season-high 30 points, his first game with 20 points or more since January 6. Though he missed multiple key shots in overtime, Ellis still shot 55.6% of his three-point attempts and 52.6% of his shots from the field.

Meanwhile, Collier came near a double-double with 25 points, nine assists and a rebound against the Buffaloes. This was his season-high in assists, and his second-highest point total of the season.

Unfortunately, the efforts of Ellis and Collier weren't enough for the Trojans to get it done. They'll have to wait until next week when they take on UCLA for another shot at a win.
