USC Basketball: Trojans Officially Hiring Former Arkansas Coach Eric Musselman
The USC Trojans are reportedly hiring a new head coach! The team made the announcement official today:
Connor Morrisette of USCFootball.com, Jeff Borzello and Pete Thamel of ESPN, and Matt Norlander of CBS Sports were the first to report that Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Eric Musselman is set to take over from now-departed head coach Andy Enfield, who ditched the team in favor of a gig with Southern Methodist University.
The 59-year-old Musselman has served as the Razorbacks' head coach for the last five years. Before the 2023-24 season (in which Arkansas went 16-17), Musselman had led the team to three consecutive March Madness berths, including two Elite Eights. He had logged the four years prior as Nevada's head coach. All told between those nine seasons, he boasts a 221-93 win-loss record.
Musselman was also the head coach of the Golden State Warriors from 2002-04 and the Sacramento Kings from 2006-07.
"My family and I couldn't be more excited for this incredible opportunity at USC," Musselman said, per Norlander. "I am grateful to President Folt and Jen Cohen for the chance to lead the men's basketball program at such a world-class university with a rich tradition of success. We will be committed to the development of our student-athletes and upholding the values that make the Trojan Family so special. We will hit the ground running and work tirelessly to make our great alumni, fans and all of Los Angeles proud."
