USC Basketball: Trojans Place Near Bottom of ESPN's Top 25 CBB Teams

It'll be up to them to prove the doubters wrong.

A recently conducted poll on where college men's teams currently stack up against each other has dropped with USC quite low among the top 25 teams in the nation. 

According to one ESPN writer, the Trojans have the 21st ranked team in the nation with both fresh faces and old veterans returning to lead the squad into battle. 

Andy Enfield will have one of the nation's premier backcourts next season in returning all-conference guard

Boogie Ellis

and elite incoming freshman Isaiah Collier, the No. 1 recruit in the 2023 class. Expect those two to handle most of the scoring responsibilities, while

Kobe Johnson

and Washington State transfer

DJ Rodman

will provide toughness and 3-point shooting. If Bronny James is able to play, USC's perimeter will be as deep and versatile as any in college basketball.

Securing both Isaiah Collier and Bronny James for their backcourt of the future and the now was huge for the Trojans, but the latter might take a bit more time to return to game action than previously thought. 

Highly anticipated to be one of college basketball's biggest storylines, James suffered a cardiac arrest in a freak accident with many fans speculating on what could've caused it. 

No matter what the cause, James can count on his USC teammates to pick up the slack early in the year for a hopeful return when he's healthy. 

Kobe Johnson is coming off a season where his defensive talents were recognized by the Pac-12 and looks for an expanded role this year. 

Former Cougar and newest transfer from Washington State DJ Rodman also joins the fray as the Trojans will look for a deeper push in March than previous seasons. 

No matter who's on the court at Andy Enfield's command, the Trojans are excited to get back to action.
