USC Basketball: Trojans Welcome Top New York Forward Prospect Before 2023 Season
It's safe to say that the USC Trojans will be bringing forth one of their best men's basketball teams in recent history when this 2023 season officially kicks off. The hype is unreal surrounding the squad right now and seeing the likes of Isaiah Collier, Bronny James and Boogie Ellis lead the way for them, they are indeed building something special.
However, a key to becoming one of the best teams in the nation is to never get too comfortable. Majority of the main rotational players for USC this year already know what it's like playing for the top high school programs across the US and got used to playing with new teammates every year.
Well it appears they will have to do so again as the Trojans will be welcoming in a top forward from the city of New York just before the summer in Brandon Gardner. Gardner stands at 6'8 and weighs in at 210 pounds and was set to play at at St.John's before changing his mind due to a coaching move on their end.
"The USC men's basketball program has added forward Brandon Gardner to its 2023-24 team, it was announced by USC men's basketball head coach today (June 27). The addition of Gardner has pushed USC's recruiting class to No. 4 in the country according to On3.com."

Gardner will bring even more versatility at the forward position to USC as his frame and length make him a very productive option on both ends of the floor. During his senior season at Christ The King high school, he was able to average 12 points with 10 rebounds and two blocks. His best traits include his athleticism and body control when attacking the paint.
His jump shot started to roll in near the end of his high school career but seeing the number of wings USC already has, I don't think he'll be asked to take many once the new season kicks off.
Get ready to hear more of his name very soon!
