Your 4-0 USC Women of Troy are off to a sterling start thus far in the 2023-24 NCAA basketball season.

Even before their first non-exhibition matchup of the season, the broader hoops world expected big things out of the club.

Per the official USC women's basketball program Twitter/X, 6'4" junior center Rayah Marshall was projected to number among the top competitors for the Naismith Trophy Women's College Player of the Year this season.

Marshall has already had a big impact during her first two finished seasons with the Women of Troy, having made the 2023 All-Pac-12 Team and All-Pac-12 Defensive Team, while being named a Naismith Defensive Player of the Year semifinalists.

In 2021-22, she was named a Pac-12 All-Defensive Honorable Mention and a Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honoree.

Through her first four games this season, Marshall is averaging 15.5 points on 61.9% sooting from the floor, 10.8 rebounds, two steals, 1.3 blocks and one assists.
