USC Women's Basketball: JuJu Watkins Added To Another Prestigious Award Watch List

JuJu Watkins continues to collect accolades in her record-setting freshman season with USC.

USC freshman phenom JuJu Watkins was named to the Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 Watch List on Tuesday.

In her first year with the Trojans, the 6'2" shooting guard has led the team in scoring in 16 of 17 games and ranks second in the nation with 25.8 points per game. She trails only Iowa's Caitlin Clark who averages 32.

Watkins has accumulated six 30-point games this season which continues to set a freshman record for 30-point games in a season with each performance. She tied Lisa Leslie and Pac McGee's record of four just six games into the season.

She has also been named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week 10 times.

Scoring isn't the only thing in Watkins' skillset. She has recorded at least two steals in 12 straight games and her sixth straight game with at least two assists.

Watkins was the lone freshman named to the Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 Watch List in November. She proceeded to set a USC record with a 32-point freshman debut in the Trojans' upset win over then-No. 7 Ohio State.

USC and Watkins face a tough opponent in Stanford on Friday at 7 p.m. PST at Maples Pavilion. The game will be broadcast on Pac-12 Network.
