USC Women's Basketball: New Trojan Achieves Breakthrough Stat Vs Ducks
One of your 19-4 USC Trojans' standout new additions notched a massive achievement during the Cardinal and Gold's latest victory Friday, an 88-51 massacre over the 11-15 Oregon Ducks.
As USC's official X account notes, graduate student forward Kaitlyn Davis achieved her first double-double with the Women of Troy, a 10-point, 11-rebound, five-assist outpouring against the Ducks.
The 6'2" forward joined USC this season as a transfer out of Columbia University.
While at Columbia, she was a two-time All-Ivy League selection (she was a unanimous pick during her senior year in 2022-23) and a 2023 All-Ivy League Tourney honoree. In 2023, she helped power the Lions to the WNIT final. Davis was also named a Second Team All-Met pick. Across 28.4 minutes a night during her senior season, she averaged 13.6 points on .510/.250/.701 shooting splits, 8.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.8 blocks.
In 19 games this season with the Trojans (13 starts), she's averaging 5.2 points on 56.7% shooting from the field and 56.4% shooting from the foul line, 5.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.6 steals per bout.
Davis may not be the offensive resource this year she had been during his Ivy League tenure, but her rebounding and tenacity seem to still be a key part of the club's attack.
