The official acknowledgement from USC felt like a bit of a formality.

Your USC Women of Troy have officially added one of the nation's best prep school forwards to their 2024-25 roster, and she just happens to have some familiar lineage.

Forward Vivian Iwuchukwu, little sister to sophomore men's basketball center Vincent (a former five-star recruit himself), is coming to the Galen Center next fall, per USC Communications.

"We are thrilled to announce that Viv has signed with our USC squad. We identified Viv as one of the most athletic, high-motor, high upside post players the moment we saw her play," head coach Gottlieb said. "That her brother Vince was already a valued member of the USC family was simply a bonus. Viv is a unique talent. She is a leader and a dominant inside force that will be a seamless fit with not only her classmates in the '24 class, but also with the style of play we are establishing with our returning veterans."

Per USC, the 6'3" Vivian Iwuchuwku, currently a senior at Florida's Montverde Academy, is pegged as the No. 47 prospect in the nation. She's one of six freshman signings confirmed yesterday who together comprise the No. 1 recruiting class in the NCAA.

As a junior in 2022-23, Iwuchuwkwu averaged 7.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest, leading Montverde to a 26-1 record and its second consecutive GEICO High School Nationals title. We'll see if she can repeat the feat this year.

She'll be joining a starry recruiting group of fellow future Trojans: Brandeis High School (San Antonio, Texas) guard Rian Forestier; Long Island Lutheran High School (Port Chester, New York) point guard Kayleigh Heckel; Boise High School (Boiste, Idaho) guard Avery Howell; Etiwanda High School (Etiwanda, California) forward Kennedy Smith; and St. Paul VI Catholic High School (Fairfax, Virginia) forward Laura Williams.
