USC Women's Basketball: Trojans AP Rank Revealed After Undefeated Non-Conference Run
The USC Trojans have been on a stellar run through non-conference play. Riding the immaculate skills of Juju Watkins, Rayah Marshall, and McKenzie Forbes—the team has gone 10-0.
Even with Watkins and Marshall having to sit out of the final game with Long Beach State, the women banded together to deliver an amazing performance. Kayla Padilla would get her first start of the season, and go off for 16 points.
Having depth in crucial moments is so important, and it proves that USC could survive should starters have to sit out again.
Based on their performance this season, the Trojans have now been given their final AP rank before conference play starts.
For the fifth straight week, the Trojans are now ranked #6. Despite going undefeated, they have not cracked the top five just yet. They can certainly do so when they take on the UCLA Bruins on December 30.
UCLA is ranked #2, and defeating their cross-town rivals would go a long way to adding even more legitimacy to this exciting squad.
It's a good time to be a Trojans fan, as the team plays with high energy. We imagine they will put the entire NCAA on notice in the coming weeks.
