USC Women's Basketball: Trojans Hold Steady in Top 10 For AP Rankings
USC women's basketball stands pat at No. 10 in the AP Top 25 rankings. This is the Trojans' second consecutive week in the top ten after moving up five spots to No. 10 a week ago.
The Trojans were one of the three top-ten teams to not move in the rankings this week, along with No. 1 South Carolina and No. 9 UCLA.
USC maintains their top-ten status after an 81-63 win over Arizona State on Friday. The 17-4 Trojans were dominant in their win against the 10-13 Sun Devils, with three different players making a major impact statistically.
JuJu Watkins was once again stellar, putting up another 30-point game with 31 points, seven rebounds and five assists. McKenzie Forbes was second in points with 18 on the day, while Rayah Marshall added a double-double, hitting 13 points and 16 rebounds.
The Trojans are now riding a three-game win streak, in large part because of their success in their two-game road trip to the Bay Area. The Trojans took down both Cal and Stanford a week ago, with Watkins' wild 51-point performance helping USC upset No. 3 Stanford.
USC will face three more challenges this week, with a home game against Arizona on Monday, followed by two road games against Oregon and Oregon State. The Trojans will likely need to win at least two, if not all three, to keep their current standing in the AP Top 25 rankings.
Their toughest game of the bunch will be against Oregon State, who are third in the Pac-12 with a 9-3 conference record and 20-3 overall record. Though the Beavers are behind the Trojans in the AP Top 25 poll at No. 17, they will be no easy foe for USC.
