USC Women's Basketball: Team Announces New Jersey Numbers For New Players
Well, it's happened.
Your six new USC Women of Troy have been bequeathed with new jersey numbers, as the team's official Twitter account reveals:
USC added four new graduate transfers, one new undergrad transfer, and two freshmen.
Freshman Malia Samuels, a four-star 5'6" guard out of Garfield High School in Seattle, will wear No. 10, while the top-ranked recruit in their class, 6' combo guard Juju Watkins out of Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, will rock No. 12.
6' grad student guard/forward Kaitlyn Davis out of Columbia will don No. 24, 6' grad student wing McKenzie Forbes out of Harvard will wear No. 25, 5'10" grad student transfer Roxane Makolo out of Purdue will be outfitted in jersey No. 30, and 5'9" junior guard Kayla Padilla out of Pennsylvania will rock No. 45.
The Women of Troy will look significantly different with all these new, talented additions on the roster. Watkins in particular has sky-high expectations headed her way. During her senior year in 2022-23, the 18-year-old was honored as the Gatorade National Player of the Year, the Naismith Prep Player of the Year, and the McDonald's All-American Game MVP. She was also twice named the California Ms. Basketball. She inked a NIL contract with Nike at the start of her senior high school season.
