USC Football: Trojans Considered Early Favorite To Land 2027 Running Back

While still very early in the recruiting process, USC is in a good spot to land the Texas speedster
In this story:

"I used to watch my cousins at Oregon, but I like USC now."

Class of 2027 running back Landen Williams-Callis of Randle High School (Richmond, TX) can fly. Currently measuring 5'7, 160 pounds, the shifty running back is about as fast as they come given his age. His coaching staff was protective of him during his first year of high school football, limiting his usage to the running back position. But Williams-Callis told AllTrojans.com "I plan on going to receiver and probably play some defense like safety or corner." as his high school career unfolds.

His first offer was Grambling State (before ever playing a snap in high school) in February 2022, and then his recruitment started blowing up after he attended college camps during the spring and summer of 2023. He used to root for Oregon State when his cousin, retired NFL running back and ex-OSU Beaver Jacquizz Rodgers played in Corvallis but has since shifted his focus to USC.

"It's like the coach, how he explained everything to me like how it works over there, and I just love California," Williams-Callis said.

Running backs coach Kiel McDonald has been Williams-Callis' main point of contact throughout his recruitment.

Williams-Callis just dropped his first highlight tape and AllTrojans.com will be breaking that down in a follow-up article.

Given that Williams-Collins is already a USC fan, it's safe to call USC the favorite up to this point in his recruitment. But as they say, there's a lot of ball left.
