Big news hit the sports journalism world on Tuesday as an Orange County Register reporter was suspended two weeks from covering USC due to violating the school's media policy.

After a large uproar from both the Orange County Register and fellow journalists, Luca Evans is speaking out about his suspension from the team.

Evans was suspended for unauthorized access to players for interviews.

According to USC's media policy, members of the media are only allowed to talk to players during press conference or designated media availability's.

The school is claiming that Evans was conducting interviews during practice and around campus.

The Orange County Register came out defending its reporter for his actions. The publication believes that what Evans did does not warrant a suspension.

This is Evans' first year covering the team for the Orange County Register. In the past he was a high school reporter for the LA Times.

Despite not having the exclusive access to players, Evans will still cover the team. The plan is for him to write different stories that don't need player quotes.

Following the two week suspension, Evans' coverage of the team will go back to normal. The question now is how will USC welcome him back.
