USC Football: Expert Believes Running Back Rising In Pre-Draft Assessments
Trojans running back MarShawn Lloyd continued his great start to the season with another great week on the road at Colorado last Saturday morning.
The junior offensive weapon punched in his third rushing score of the year against the Buffaloes and has proven to be the right-hand man opposite Caleb Williams in USC's backfield through five games.
Reid:
USC's
MarShawn Lloyd
has settled into a pivotal role for the Trojans in his first season with the team after transferring from South Carolina. At 5-foot-9 and 210 pounds, he's quick-footed and has enough speed to burst through the first level, but it's his vision and ability to make defenders miss that really stand out. Lloyd has at least 75 rushing yards in four of five games this season, and he impressed with 84 yards and a TD on 13 carries
against Colorado
. A late-round hopeful coming into the year, Lloyd is now firmly on the draft radar as a potential early-Day 3 target.

The former Gamecock aided his draft pedigree in consecutive close road wins against Pac-12 competition after playing a key role in the high-powered Trojans offense.
Arizona State tried to limit Lloyd's production to no avail as he ran wild for 154 yards on just 14 carries as the most efficient weapon in the team's victory against the Sun Devils.
Colorado also proved no match for Lloyd after he took 13 totes for 84 yards and a 27-yard jaunt to paydirt to kick off the scoring in the early morning clash.
Alex Grinch's defense may keep USC from its ultimate goal of a national championship, but the team's offensive talents are doing what they can to combat that.
Regardless, Lloyd's total efforts of 433 yards on 53 carries with three touchdowns in 2023 are surely leading him one step closer to his dreams of an NFL career.
