Buffalo Bills Pro Bowl quarterback Josh Allen might be an NFL superstar, but he's not wholly infallible. To wit, he had a particularly weird moment during his team's particularly weird season opener, a 22-16 overtime loss to a New York Jets team missing its own Pro Bowl QB, 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers, who hurt himself just a few plays into his jets debut, and whom team doctors fear has torn his Achilles.

The 6'2" play caller out of Mission Viejo High School fumbled the ball, but got bailed out by attendant game officials.

Here's that moment:

In the grand scheme of things, this wacky scenario is fairly rare and not a major cause for concern for Bills fans.

2008 first-team All-Pac-10 star quarterback Mark Sanchez, who was an NFL journeyman in a nine-year pro career, took to Twitter to jokingly chastise the moment:

Sanchez was selected with the fifth pick in the 2009 NFL draft by the New York Jets.

As a Bruin, he played just three seasons, completing 64.3% of his passes and notching a total of 3965 yards.

During his tenures with New York, the Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders, Sanchez passed for an insane 15,327 yards (and a 56.6% completion percentage), plus 86 touchdowns.
