The college football season is finally here and just a couple games remains in Week 1.

The Modelo Vegas Kickoff Classic features the No. 13 LSU Tigers out of the SEC and the No. 23 USC Trojans, newly in the Big Ten Conference. The game is being played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

FINAL - No. 23 USC Trojans defeat No. 13 LSU Tigers, 27-20

4Q 0:04 - USC intercepts the first pass of the LSU possession to seal the victory.

4Q 0:08 - Rather than settle for a game-winning field goal, Woody Marks runs it in from 13 yards for the touchdown. USC leads LSU 27-20.

4Q 1:47 - LSU gets to the USC 14 but has to settle for a 31-yard field goal. The game is tied 20-20.

4Q 5:44 - USC works down the field quickly. A 28-yard touchdown pass to Ja'Kobi Lane puts the Trojans up 20-17.

4Q 6:57 - LSU gives the ball back to USC quickly with a three-and-out. Trojans take over on USC 36.

4Q 8:38 - USC burns two timeouts before final two plays, but cannot convert a 4th and 9 at the LSU 36. The Tigers take over at the LSU 21 (after an unsportsmanlike penalty on LSU) with a 17-13 lead.

4Q 13:25 - LSU picks up seven yards on three plays to open the final quarter, punting the ball back to USC.

End 3Q - LSU has the ball 1st and 10 at its own 39 with a 17-13 lead over USC.

3Q 1:07 - A fumble that was recovered by USC for an eight yard loss followed by a false start had the Trojans in 2nd and 23 from their own 8. USC could not convert and punted the ball back to the Tigers on the LSU 23.

3Q 3:42 - LSU takes its first lead of the game on a 13-yard pass from Garrett Nussmeier to Aaron Anderson. The Tigers are up 17-13.

3Q 7:13 - Michael Lantz gets a 35-yard field goal to go. USC leads LSU 13-10.

3Q 11:27 - LSU has a three-and-out as well. USC starts shy of its own 25.

3Q 13:29 - A three-and-out for USC to begin the third quarter followed by a short return gives LSU the ball and their own 28.

3Q 15:00 - USC Trojans begin second half with the ball on their own 25.

Halftime - USC misses a field goal as time expires. The Trojans and LSU Tigers are tied 10-10.

2Q 1:08 - LSU gets a 45-yard field goal from Damian Ramos tie the game at 10-10.

2Q 4:21 - A 38-yard pass set up USC at the LSU 5, but an illegal blindside block (not targeting) on the next play moved the Trojans back to the 20. Zachariah Branch had an explosive play to get USC back to the 5 before the Trojans settled for a field goal to go up 10-7.

2Q 6:56 - Zachariah Branch returns the LSU kickoff across midfield, setting up the USC offense in Tiger territory.

2Q 7:02 - LSU answers with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Garrett Nussmeier to Kyren Lacy. Lacy did earn an usportsmanlike conduct penalty after the score. The game is tied 7-7.

2Q 11:00 - USC strikes first with a touchdown run from Woody Marks on 1st and Goal from the 2. The Trojans lead 7-0.

2Q 11:42 - Kyron Hudson makes an insane catch from Miller Moss for 24 yards to put USC down to the LSU 17.

End 1Q - LSU is at midfield but is set to punt after a 3rd and 6 comes up short.

1Q 4:29 - USC picks up 25 yards on four plays but loses a yard on 3rd and 2, forcing a 57-yard punt. LSU's return man danced around plenty but could not find a lane.

1Q 7:46 - After converting a 4th and 2 at midfield, the Tigers had 4th and Goal from the USC 3 but pressure forced an incomplete pass, giving the ball to USC for the first Trojan possesion of the season.

Kickoff - LSU wins the toss and takes the ball. Zavion Thomas gets the Tigers to the 23 before getting tripped up.
